High School Basketball

Hillel Academy’s High School Basketball program is a cornerstone of school spirit and student life. Open to all high school students, the program combines athletic skill-building with the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Our athletes train in a supportive environment where every player—whether a seasoned competitor or new to the game—has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and succeed. Guided by dedicated coaches, students develop both on and off the court, gaining confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility to their team and community.

Over the past ten years, Hillel’s basketball teams have shown tenacity and competitiveness in various leagues and playoff series. In the 2024–25 season, the boys' varsity team advanced to the semifinals of their playoff bracket, earning a hard-fought win in the quarterfinals before facing a strong opponent in the semis. In other years, Hillel has regularly competed in WPIAL postseason action, including challenging matchups in the Round of 16 and quarterfinal rounds. Hillel is also a regular competitor in the David Tanzman Memorial Competition. These competitive seasons reflect both our athletic growth and the drive of our teams to represent Hillel with pride at every turn.

The program also celebrates tradition and community through events like alumni games, bringing past and present players together in spirited displays of school pride. These connections highlight the lasting impact of Hillel basketball, both for current students and graduates alike.

At Hillel Academy, basketball is more than a game—it’s a way to grow, connect, and thrive as part of a team.
